This is Keith Haring’s Radiant Child Statue (2G Exclusive) x Medicom Toy.
In the 1980s, Keith Haring transformed the New York City subway into his art studio, using chalk to engrave his now famous drawings wherever he found space. One such drawing was the “Radiant Baby“, which Haring called “the purest experience of human existence“. Haring often used the child to represent Jesus in nativity scenes or next to crosses. Over time, the “Radiant Baby” has acquired a darker meaning through Haring’s depictions of nuclear proliferation, in which the baby appears inside mushroom clouds and scenes of war and violence. Can be interpreted “Radiant Baby” can be interpreted in a number of ways, the design was Haring’s favorite among his iconic creations and is now prized as the artist’s signature label.
