Il brand americano Carhartt WIP ritorna in scena proponendo una nuova capsule collection ispirata al leggendario musicista africano Fela Kuti, il quale ha fortemente influenzato questo progetto tramite la sua eredità artistica e culturale. Nel corso dei suoi 58 anni, Kuti ha sviluppato e arricchito il genere afrobeat, mescolando pietre miliari della musica dell’Africa occidentale con punte di funk e jazz americano, creando così un’elaborata ed interessante fusione dei due generi. Questa capsule risulta essere la più grande ed importante collaborazione musicale di Carhartt WIP fino ad oggi; infatti essa presenta una gamma completa di camicie e accessori direttamente ispirati alla musica di Kuti e dalla vibrante cultura del suo paese natale, la Nigeria.
Camicia a manica corta dall’impronta fortemente etnica, con una grafica stilizzata “FELA” riportata su base verde e arricchita da colori sul tono del giallo che si abbinano perfettamente con il tag del brand.

The American brand Carhartt WIP returns to the scene proposing a new capsule collection inspired by the legendary African musician Fela Kuti, who has strongly influenced this project through his artistic and cultural heritage. During his 58 years, Kuti developed and enriched the afrobeat genre, mixing milestones of West African music with bits of funk and American jazz, thus creating an elaborate and interesting fusion of the two genres. This capsule is the largest and most important musical collaboration of Carhartt WIP to date; in fact it presents a complete range of shirts and accessories directly inspired by Kuti’s music and the vibrant culture of his native country, Nigeria.
Short-sleeved shirt with a strongly ethnic imprint, with a stylized “FELA” graphic on a green base and enriched by colors on a yellow tone that perfectly match the brand’s tag.
